Sharing all about our surprise weekend getaway.

D and I weren't able to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas or even New Years how we wished so I made sure to celebrate our love this Valentines Day! If you didn't already know - VDAY is my all time favorite holiday for obvious reasons. Even when I was single, it was still my favorite. But I love love and any excuse to celebrate it, I'm in. I also love chocolate and the color pink so really nothings better. LOL
Dophcar and I both work from home and have been stuck inside due to curfews here in the Dominican Republic! Friday night D finished working around 10pm and then I could hardly sleep thinking about surprising him. Saturday morning came and I instantly woke him up by saying "You have 1 hour to pack and get ready... were going somewhere" He thought I was kidding and asked me to turn off the light so we could go back to sleep. After he realized I was serious, he asked all the questions. All of which were responded to with "you'll have to wait and see"
D and I hadn't visited any of the beaches here in the DR but its something we've always talked about / wanted to do! I'm a mermaid after all so technically I belong there. We packed, I got an Uber to take us to the bus station and we purchased tickets to Puerta Plata. (which was only $300 pesos total -- that's like $5 US -- amazinnnnggg)
After less than 2 hours we made it... well to Puerta Plata. Then we took a moto to what was supposed to be our hotel... it wasn't. So add another 30 minutes there. Then we had to get a Taxi to go to the correct one. So add another 45 minutes there. And then finally we made it to our destination - Presidential Suites Lifestyle Cabarete. It was beautiful and worth all the extra adventures I hadn't planned. D had no idea what was happening the entire time so he was just following along for the ride and going with the flow!
We only stayed for one night but it was absolutely stunning! Promise to share all the breathtaking views on the vlog!
